Description
Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing Operations, the Associate Director of Finance is responsible for providing integrated financial support to the Strategic Marketing & Communications Department. The incumbent manages and oversees the daily operations of the financial unit including purchasing, accounts payable and budget office reporting as well as management of non-compensation budgets, both portfolio and non-project (overhead). Assists on overall budget planning, forecasting, and reporting.  Anticipates, identifies, and resolves issues and opportunities. Advises leadership on financial modeling and risk assessment. Participates in developing, implementing, documenting, and communicating financial and budgetary policies, procedures and guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related degree and at least four years of significant work experience in financial management, budgeting, strategic planning, business development, and a leadership/supervisory role. Demonstrated experience in projecting utilization statistics and reviewing financial projections. Experience analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, financial procedures, and/or governmental regulations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Superior organizational skills - must be able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines

*Excellent project management, analytic, communication, and diplomacy skills.

*Must be able to work well under pressure.

*Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills including the ability to establish cooperative working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and campus partners.

*Ability to attend staff events as needed (including occasional nights and weekends).

* This position requires a background check.

Preferred:

*Financial management proficiency within a higher education setting.

*Knowledge of the marketing industry.
