The Student Services Event Operations Coordinator serves as a member of the Student Center Operations team and reports to the Assistant Director, Student Center Operations. This position is responsible for serving students, staff and faculty on the Health Sciences Center (HSC) campus. 

Under general supervision, the Coordinator fulfills a key position in the management of the Student Faculty Center (SFC) Conference Center and special event space in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) on Temple University’s Health Sciences Center (HSC) campus. Major areas supervised include managing reservations and billing for multiple locations and virtual events, audio visual and information technology, and event staff hiring, training, evaluation, and scheduling. The Coordinator supervises (7-10) student workers. Assists in data collection and analysis of customer satisfaction for conference and special events on the HSC campus. Works in collaboration and partnership with housekeeping, facilities management, and food service, as well as a variety of university departments including computer services, HR, and the controller’s office. Assists in the development and implementation of departmental events. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in student center operations, event management, or the student affairs field. Must have experience in operating and troubleshooting AV equipment and computers/smart room technology. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Critical skills in event planning, knowledge of AV systems, equipment and IT systems, facility management, staff training and development, budget management.
*Excellent time and project management skills.
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
*Excellent organizational skills, along with the ability to work independently and efficiently. 
*Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and recommend replacement of equipment. 
*Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of students, parents, and staff.
*Ability to manage multiple collaborative projects and systems in a fast-paced environment.
*Understanding of the objectives of higher education. 
*Ability to work and contribute to a positive, energetic, and fast-paced environment, multi-task, resolve conflicts, collaborate, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing. 
*Must possess strong leadership, supervisory and managerial skills.
*Ability to work as part of a team. 
*Must have a clear understanding of program development and marketing concepts relative to development and operation of conference/event services.
*Ability to work some nights and weekends for events and travel between multiple campuses; at least once a month.
*Must maintain a positive and objective customer service approach and attitude even when confronted with difficult situations.

Preferred:
*Master’s degree.
