8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.

Primary Purpose of Position:

Assist the Director of Parking and Transportation Services with day-to-day office-related duties such as: answering telephones, responding to and/or organizing emails, filing, scheduling calendar appointments, typing & formatting documents in MS Word, basic spreadsheet creation and formatting in MS Excel, basic presentation formatting in MS PowerPoint.

This position will also administer 2nd-level parking citation appeals, consisting of reviewing the appeal, the citation and account history, information related to the initial appeal, the reason for being upheld, and interviewing appellant when necessary. The position will then respond to the customer with a decision in electronic format.

Finally, this position will be responsible for other miscellaneous administrative tasks as requested by Parking and Transportation management.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

University Preferred Qualifications:

Graduation from high school, or completion of its equivalency, and two years of office/clerical work experience; or an equivalent combination of training/experience.

Essential Job Duties:

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

A strong customer service orientation is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is also essential. Ability to use a computer to check and send email, research various online data and information from different systems.

Candidate must have the ability to work independently and in a busy environment while maintaining a professional disposition, must be able to work in a team environment with multiple applications and responsibilities, must have excellent organizational skills and must have the ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute (WPM).
