General Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the Department Chair, the Department Faculty Status Committee, and tenure track search committees. This includes posting advertisements, scheduling phone and campus candidate interviews, and providing support for annual faculty performance review. It also includes managing records and documents, archiving and organizing materials, planning and organizing meetings and special events on behalf of the Chair, preparing all meeting agendas/minutes, maintaining the Chair's calendar, and scheduling conference rooms and meetings.

Required Qualifications
  1. High school graduation or equivalent
  2. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to the third level of this series. This work includes performing a wide variety of office support tasks, which require the use of judgment and initiative and the ability to operate computer systems, using word processing, database and software packages. Knowledge of the organization, programs, practices and procedures of a department/unit is central to the performance of the duties.
Desired Qualifications
  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  2. Strong customer service skills.
  3. Strong background in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook, as well as Qualtrics.
  4. Excellent organizational skills, initiative, high degree of accuracy, and familiarity with office and university procedures.
  5. Ability to work with multiple interruptions and audiences (e.g., faculty, staff, students, the public).
  6. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work under pressure.
Work Hours

8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
2. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$16.84 - $17.49 per hour
