The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia seeks motivated postdoctoral Research Associates and/or Research Scientist to conduct research in the laboratory of Dr. Zhiyi Zuo. The Zuo’s lab has two focuses: ischemic brain injury and perioperative neurocognitive disorders. Various animal models are used in the studies of ischemic brain injury. We are interested in determining molecular mechanism for aging and metabolic syndrome to decrease ischemic brain tolerance. How aging and other comorbidities contribute to the development of perioperative neurocognitive disorders is actively studied.
