The Heysell Lab in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Virginia seek a Research Associate to join the Heysell Lab.
The candidate will join a research focused team with an extensive international research presence, experience working with diverse teams is required.
The successful candidate will develop assays for non-blood matrices to detect and accurately measure anti-tuberculosis drug concentrations for estimation of pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamics targets. This work will be carried out under direct mentorship of Dr. Heysell and support from current laboratory and research staff. The candidate must be experienced in protocol development as well as implementation. The candidate will be required to attend research meetings with the PEE-TB collaborative study (UVA and Rutgers) and assist with those patient-related study activities as they directly relate to the upcoming supplement to R01 AI137080.
Additionally, the candidate must be able to participate in protocol writing and editing and be able to critically analyze and contribute to the work of others. Experience in training in biological sciences at the doctoral level. The incumbent must have demonstrated analytical skills and well developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Education: PhD, MD or equivalent in biological sciences or equivalent
- Proficiency in data analytics techniques with excellent analytical skills
