JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University CCIT is looking for an IT Technician II to support Athletics and fulfill the following duties:

  • Serves as area support lead, providing computer and networking support to Athletics personnel.
  • Provides user training and installation of hardware and software.
  • Diagnoses, resolves, and tracks user problems.
  • Provides guidance to department regarding computer hardware, software, databases, networks, laboratories, and other technology related equipment and services.


JOB DUTIES:

60% - Essential - TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT:

Serves as lead technology support personnel for Athletics personnel, departments, and computer laboratories, including systems configuration, installation of hardware and software, and problem diagnosis and resolution according to established priority guidelines.

15% - Essential - TRAINING AND SUPERVISION:

Assists with hiring and on-going training of IT student workers, ensuring relevant technical knowledge and implementation of technical skills. Provides assistance in training for departmental personnel in access of University and Internet IT resources.

15% - Essential - TECHNICAL COMMUNICATIONS:

Provides guidance to Athletics personnel by evaluating hardware and software needs and recommending solutions based on University IT standards. Document's information system requirements, plans and roadmaps. Communicates technical information, metrics, and reports to both customer and other team members. Develops technical documents, training and reports.

10% - Essential - COMPLIANCE:

Assists Division with both impending University and developing departmental IT/IT Security standards, policies, and procedures. Ensures that Division is utilizing established best practices, management systems, and participates in audits as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience 4+ Years; Experience can be substituted on year for year basis.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education Bachelor's Degree preferred

Work Experience Microsoft Certified IT Professional Certification (MCP) and Apple Certified Support Professional a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB KNOWLEDGE
Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises Student Workers Only - Supervises Student workers only

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education Bachelor's Degree preferred

Work Experience Microsoft Certified IT Professional Certification (MCP) and Apple Certified Support Professional a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Overnight Travel

Will be subject to afterhours support and on-call support

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range: ($ 61,000.00 - $ 70,000.00)
