JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University CCIT is looking for a IT Programmer IV - Public Safety to fulfill the following duties:

  • Serves as a member of the Clemson Computing and Information Technology (CCIT) team which supports Clemson University's implementation of the highly complex JUVARE system and system data integrations.
  • Provides senior level application and integration support for Clemson University Public Safety software solutions, services, and reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:

45% - Essential - Integration Development: Serves as an integration and automation subject matter expert for on-prem and cloud deployments of CU Public Safety's software solutions, services, and data reporting. Works to ensure accurate and timely delivery of data for critical reporting needs. Leads, trains, and advises other programmers/developers and provides related expert technical assistance for CU Public Safety. Collaborates and liaises with other units and serve as a technical resource. Utilizes tools to implement and maintain system automation, integrations, monitoring, and reporting.

30% - Essential - Research and Evaluation: Leads analysis of supported services modifications, integrations, and vendor provided updates. Works with IT Consultants to as part of a team to research, evaluate, and stays current on technology tools, techniques, security best practices, and emerging technologies that best support the integrated IT, data, and reporting needs of CU Public Safety. Monitor's technology trends and the work of standard bodies to assist management and the technical support staff in defining technical standards. Research best practices with respect to software and data integration design and leads approved initiatives accordingly. Participates in quality control and testing activities.

15% - Essential - Technical Support: Leads technical support in maintaining, updating, configuring, and using critical systems and related applications and services. Creates, installs, and maintains software on related critical systems. Works with software vendors to ensure system stability and compatibility. Works with other Clemson IT professionals to troubleshoot problems on servers. Works with other IT professionals to troubleshoot data integrations and automations from other IT solutions, including the installation and maintenance of all hardware equipment and software package upgrades on personal computers, phones, cameras, radios, etc.

10% - Essential - Technical Training and Advising: Leads, trains, and advises other programmers/developers as part of a shared services development support team. Trains, advises, and provides expert technical assistance for others in relation to CU Public Safety mission critical systems, reporting, and related applications and services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience 1+ Years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience Certification, proficiency, or familiarity with the following systems: Genetec, WebEOC, FCC License and Coordination, Public Safety Radio Systems, Motorola Communications, Cradle Point, Computer Aided Dispatch systems, and Avtec.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience Certification, proficiency, or familiarity with the following systems: Genetec, WebEOC, FCC License and Coordination, Public Safety Radio Systems, Motorola Communications, Cradle Point, Computer Aided Dispatch systems, and Avtec.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Will be required to maintain 24x7 communications and availability. This includes after hours call back, support of special events, and emergency incident response as needed to maintain operations.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range: ($ 78,900.00 - $ 80,000.00)
