Media Producer and Audio Visual Support
Under the general supervision of the Director, Information Technology and Telecommunication, provides customer service and support in the areas of multimedia content creation, audio visual, server, network, desktop computer, application, network and printer support for administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
• Assists faculty, staff and students in the production of media for use inside and outside the university. Helps translate needs into a production plan, films the required material, provides animation and effects as necessary, edits, and delivers the appropriately formatted finished product. Research and learn content to write scripts.
• Manage production inventory and budget when necessary. Provide feedback on and help to write multimedia proposals and grants. Work with marketing to maintain a visual standard for video production. Provide guidance to other video production positions as needed. Stay current on video production hardware and software and train faculty, staff, and students as needed.
• Perform day-to-day audio visual (AV) support, including scheduling, end-user coordination training, and troubleshooting audio visual, lecture capture, digital signage and video conference systems.
• Provides on the phone, on-line and in-person technical support and guidance to faculty, staff and students with Windows and Mac OS X hardware, applications, mobile devices, printing and network issues. Sets-up, configures, trouble shoots and upgrades desktops and peripherals.
• Provides support with set-up and initiation of AV systems for presentation, lectures, meetings and video conference requests. Troubleshoot issues and provide stand-by support as needed.
• Administer and maintain digital signage TVs and software (Add Power, ConnectedSign).
• Provide support with department projects to include system upgrades, failed equipment replacement, new OS installs, images computer, computer management etc.
• Remain up to date on new technologies, tools and applications related to the technician’s responsibilities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director, Information Technology and Telecommunication.
• Basic production principles, camera work, lighting techniques, audio balancing, and the Adobe creative suite (specifically Premiere, After Effects, and Animate).
• Audio visual systems, video conferencing, lecture capture and digital signage (Crestron AV controls, Cisco TMS, Sonic Foundry Mediasite, SVSi, Just Add Power).
• Computer management systems, personal computers, operating systems and related applications. (Windows 7/8, Mac OS X, Windows mobile/iOS/Android, Microsoft Office, iWork, JAMF Casper, Microsoft SCCM).
• Provide effective training on innovations in technology.
• Manage time, organize duties/assignments, and set priorities to meet multiple deadlines.
• Work effectively and accurately with multiple interruptions.
• Take initiative in the organization and maintenance of departmental responsibilities, projects, and procedures.
• Work productively under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality of information.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, problem solving, judgment, customer service and follow-through skills.
• Project a professional image, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and communicate in a collegial and professional manner with administrators, faculty, staff, residents and students.
• Provide voice over for administrative videos too which may expand into on screen appearances as well.
• Minimum of three years in an audio visual support role. Minimum of two years desktop/network support within Windows and Mac environments.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in media production or a relevant degree in media production.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in an academic setting highly desirable.

• Work performed primarily in a general office and classroom/conference room environment.
• Position requires sitting, standing and walking a majority of working hours with occasional bending, stooping, squatting, reaching and grasping. Frequent use of computer keyboard and telephone. Lifting up to 40 lbs. to be anticipated.
• Exposure to cooler temperatures and noise within a server room environment can be anticipated.
• Position is full-time, eight hours per day, five days per week, with occasional evening and weekend hours.
• Occasional travel to our off-site clinic may be required.
