The department of Steward Observatory seeks to fill the position of a Research Technologist I. The selected candidate will conduct and support research on faint, neutral hydrogen disks in nearby massive spiral galaxies. This would include writing code to analyze existing data taken from the Green Bank Telescope, determining uncertainties in measurements, and preparing documentation on analysis performed.
This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

-Perform measurements and aid in analysis of low-level neutral hydrogen innearby spiral galaxies within Green Bank Telescope data.
- Quantify uncertainties in measurements.
- Compare to previous theoretical and observational studies.
- Document analysis steps and results.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Up to 1 year of relevant work experience required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- Experience analyzing neutral hydrogen content within galaxies.
- Experience reducing data with GBTIDL
