    Position Description:

    The person in this position will assist in system design and implementation, system maintenance and problem solving in the clinical laboratory applications, specifically McKesson' Horizon Lab, Sunquest's PowerPath and Mediware's HCLL. This person will also work in collaboration with the departmental team in the aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of all applications supported by the Clinical Systems team.

    Qualifications:

    Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities1 year experience in healthcare based information systemsProject management skillsGeneral knowledge of Microsoft operating systemGeneral knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsTechnical understanding of computer environments including familiarity with basic network infrastructure, help desk and operationsKnowledge of Crystal reports applicationPossesses computer troubleshooting skillsGood communication; interpersonal, analytical and organizational skillsDemonstrates a proactive approach to customer serviceAbility to be self-directedCommunicates and works well with othersExcellent written and oral communications skills  

    Education/experience/licensing:

    A Baccalaureate degree required.Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists is preferred. At least 1-3 years’ experience in patient care setting required.At least 1 year work experience in information technology required.

    Working Conditions:Works in an office environment during normal business hours, and is required to work after-hours and on weekends to perform maintenance work and upgrades. Is expected to provide be on-call to provide after hours support. This position can be stressful when an outage or critical situation occurs. This position requires interaction with a wide variety of personnel at nearly every position level.
