Occ SummaryPerform a variety of duties to assist the technical sta ffin departmentoperations.Work PerformedLevel I:- Provide technical assi stance by assisting with movement of patients toand from radiographic ta bles.- Clean assigned work area and equipment, stock radiographic rooms withsupplies and stock clean linen, dispose of soiled laundry.- Provide transport of non-oxygen and oxygen patients to and fromvarious hospital locations.- Pick up and deliver specimens, equipment, supplies, and mess ages asdirected.- Assist technologists with duties related to completion of imagingprocedures including butnot limited to assisting with dressin gandundressing and positioning patients for specific procedures.- Respon d to patient calls promptly and checkon patients according todepartment procedures.- Assist technologist with procedure performance. Move and se t upradiographic equipment in non-sterile setting.- Provide general pati ent care according to departmental procedures;administer to emotional an d physical needs of patients; respond topatient request promptly. Provid e prompt and courteous response to needsand requests of patients, family and visitors and to respond toquestions politely with clear, accuratein formation.- Compile, record, maintainand file information as requested foraccurate and up-to-date patient and departmental records/reports;tick et-to-ride and maintain travel logs.- Initiate calls and contact appropr iate personnel to obtain or provideemergency serviceswhena criticalsitu ation arises and demandsimmediate attention.- Monitor the medical status of patients in Radiology.- Perform other related duties incidentalto th e work described herein.Level II:In addition to Level 1 activitiesabove. ..- Set up and clean imaging rooms.- Set up instruments and equipment fo r specific procedures.- Enter patient data on radiographic studiesinto c omputer.- Assist technical staff with patient prep for interventionalpro cedures.- Schedule patients for procedures as requested.- Assisttechnolo gist with procedure performance. Move and set upradiographic equipment i n sterile setting, set up sterile trays forprocedures. Clean non-disposa ble equipment with appropriate solution.- Label and wrap instruments for sterilization.- Assist technologists with processing of images.- Perfor m charging of procedures as directed.- Assist radiographic staffwith com pletionofradiographic studies byentry of patient data into computer; mo ve equipment; record patientinformation on appropriate images;maintain e ffective coordination ofactivities with others.- Monitor inventory level s of requisite supplies; order and organizestock so that it is properly maintained and to avoid loss due toexpiration.- Set up special procedure trays and equipment using sterile techniquesor as appropriate to the se tting. Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by the end of the orientation period. A valid North Carolina driver's license may also be required.
