Observation of gerbils/mice. Necropsy of gerbils/mice. Collection & counting of parasitic worms. Other general duties
Infecting (via gavage) of gerbils / mice with parasitic helminths. Dosing (via gavage) of gerbils / mice with potential anthelminthic compounds.

Minimum Experience/Education:

1 year experience with handling lab animals specifically rodents.
Bachelors degree in life sciences

Department Required Skills:

Handling Labatory rodents (mice/gerbils)

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:

Bachelors degree in life sciences and 2 years laboratory animal science, experience with gerbils or similar, administration of bio-hazard and chemical materials. Understanding of adverse events and abnormal clinical signs. Capable of dissecting GI organs of large quantity of rodents. Work with staff and collaborators to ensure optimal operation, communication and completion of animal studies. Collect data and provide records in a timely fashion.
