This position is on site at our Cullowhee campus.
Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on plumbing fixture in the residence halls. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and identification of plumbing maintenance problems. The ability to problem solve while proactively seeking solutions is desired. This position requires journey level plumbing trade. Knowledge of flush valves, valve stems, drain lines, ball valves, faucet repairs, and preventative maintenance and repairs on laundry equipment. Assistance with minor carpentry and electrical repairs as needed. Cross disciplined maintenance skills are preferred.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position:
This position requires journey level skills in the plumbing trade and/or electrical trade, and contributing skills in the carpentry trade. Skills in preventative maintenance of equipment, this includes, but in not limited to: dish washers, laundry equipment, ranges, refrigerators, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and other maintenance equipment.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification.
Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Position requires journey level skills in plumbing trade, and contributing level skills in the electrical and carpentry trades. Cross disciplined skills are preferable. Applicant should possess a journey level of computer competency to facilitate accurate record keeping, and necessary documentation.Anticipated Hiring Range:
