University of California Los Angeles

Requisition Number: 33604
Salary: $24.62 - $59.77 hourly

Position Description:
We are seeking a research analyst to participate in multiple projects related to lifecourse determinants of cognitive aging and risk of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The research analyst's responsibilities will include data wrangling, data management, survival analysis, and longitudinal data analysis. The research analyst will be responsible for clearly documenting their workflow, producing organized summary reports of their statistical analyses, and contributing to interpretation of findings. The research analyst will also be responsible for conducting literature reviews, contributing to writing scientific abstracts, manuscripts, and grant proposals (with opportunities for co-authorship) and other research support duties as assigned.

The research analyst will collaborate on multiple projects within our research team related to lifecourse determinants of healthy aging. The team's research is focused on estimating effects of social factors such as race/racism, education, and immigration and cardiometabolic health (e.g. hypertension, diabetes) on cognitive aging and risk of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias in several multi-ethnic cohorts, clinical samples, and nationally-representative studies. To address these research questions rigorously, the research group's work emphasizes methods to strengthen causal inference, especially tools to quantify and remediate selection bias in epidemiologic research.
