Executive Director of Student Development
University of California Los Angeles

Requisition Number: 33660
Salary: $6,267 - $16,800 monthly

Position Description:
The executive director of student development will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, management and evaluation of the programmatic efforts related to leadership development, team effectiveness, and self-awareness training for all students in the Full-Time and Fully Employed MBA Programs at UCLA Anderson School of Management. The incumbent also partners across campus on the above efforts for Executive MBA students.

The incumbent has oversight of Leadership@Anderson, Anderson's school-wide leadership development program, for ~400 FTMBA and FEMBA students annually. This also includes recruiting, training, and managing internal and external coaches for the program.

The incumbent also manages the team effectiveness component of all MBA programs and works with relevant partners to develop and execute programs and coaching to students during orientation, coursework, and applied management programs.

The incumbent also manages self-awareness training for all incoming MBA students, which includes creation and execution of programs, large-scale sessions, team sessions, and one-on-one coaching. This also involves partnering with internal and external resources and utilization of industry tools (e.g., WorkPlace Big Five).

The executive director will work closely with relevant faculty and senior administrators to identify all existing leadership development initiatives among Anderson programs and centers, and develop programs that build on or augment team and leadership development skills already being taught to management students at UCLA Anderson. The executive director also will develop additional programs and/or initiatives to support our students in the area of team and individual leadership development, such as peer coaching. In addition to the full-time MBA, FEMBA, and EMBA programs, the executive director also will advise other UCLA Anderson programs such as, the Masters of Financial Engineering Program and the Masters in Data Analytics as appropriate on student team dynamics, coaching and leadership development. In addition, the executive director will liaise with other centers such as Price, Easton and the Center for Global Management who already have leadership development initiatives in place.

The incumbent also acts in an executive coaching capacity to students across all MBA programs, particularly supporting Leadership@Anderson, individual ad hoc growth and development, conflict resolution, team dynamics, and more.

UCLA is a public research university located in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It was founded in 1919 and is the second oldest of the ten campuses affiliated with the University of California system. UCLA offers over 300 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a wide range of disciplines and enrolls about 26,000 undergraduate and about 12,000 graduate students from the United States and around the world every year.

The UCLA College of Letters and Science has 34 academic departments and 900 faculty, and houses the majority of UCLA's 129 undergraduate majors as well as the students in the Graduate Division of Letters and Sciences. The UCLA College Honors Program is also housed in the College.
