Who We ArePREP is a special partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder. PREP provides research opportunities to CU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in NIST labs to gain research experience alongside NIST scientists. The particular group that needs a researcher is the RF Electronics Group under the RF Technology Division at NIST.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeAssist in the development of solid models, mechanical drawings including geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing, simulations of electromagnetic and thermal characteristics, assembly of new scientific instruments, and characterization of existing and new scientific instruments.What You Should KnowTemporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.What We Can OfferThe salary range is $17.00 - $30.00 per hour.BenefitsThe University of Colorado offers excellent benefits, including medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition benefit and ECO Pass. - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with scientific instrument design, computer aided design, and finite element simulations.
