Position DetailsPosting ID:16069Position Title:Assistant Professor of Latin American PoliticsCategory:Tenure-trackDepartment:GovernmentDepartment URL:http://www.claremontmckenna.edu/govt/Description:The Department of Government of Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for a tenure-track position, at the assistant professor level, in the subfield of comparative politics with a Latin American politics focus, beginning July 1, 2022. A qualified candidate would have a PhD in political science in hand or a nearly completed doctoral dissertation, and the capacity to teach core courses in comparative politics, Mexican politics, and other courses within the subfield of Latin American politics.

The candidate must have demonstrated ability to maintain an active, high quality research program and the highest standards of excellence in teaching. The teaching load at CMC is two courses per semester. Procedures
and Timetable:All applications must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, detailed research statement, and a statement regarding teaching philosophy. Letters of recommendation are required from three or more references and should evaluate the candidate’s research and teaching. Applications must be submitted electronically.

The review of applications will begin October 1, 2021, and will continue until the position is filled.
