Job Summary

The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Augusta University is seeking applicants to fill a Lecturer position in physics beginning Fall 2021. This full time position may extend beyond one year depending on need. Teaching responsibilities include lecture and/or lab courses within the undergraduate degree program in physics and core science courses.

Augusta University is one of four research universities in the University System of Georgia and the state’s only public academic medical center, offering 160 degree programs from bachelor’s to doctoral. Augusta, Georgia is the cultural center of the Central Savannah River Area, host of the Masters Golf Tournament, and home of the new $100 million Georgia Cyber Center. The university is near Fort Gordon, home of the U.S. Army’s Signal Corps, Cyber Center of Excellence, Cyber Command, and NSA-Georgia. The Department of Energy’s Savannah River National Laboratory is a half-hour drive from the university.

The Department of Chemistry and Physics will move with the College of Science and Mathematics to a newly constructed building for Fall 2021

Minimum Requirements

The minimum requirements for the position are an MS in Physics or related discipline from an accredited college or university or a Ph.D. preferred from an accredited college or university.
