Position Summary:

The Assistant Director for Recruitment Initiatives (AD for RI) serves as the most senior admissions counselor, responsible for recruitment and territory management in Northeast Arkansas.

The AD for RI supports the Senior Director in the management of all recruitment initiatives and mentors the additional admissions counselors. The AD for RI will be expected to develop collaborative partnerships with academic colleges and student services areas to ensure recruitment staff are trained and informed of the most up-to-date information. The ideal candidate will have prior recruitment experience, prior knowledge of university admission procedures, and prior user experience with a CRM (preferably Slate by Technolutions).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in high schools, colleges and universities to help them select, prepare for, and be admitted to A-State
  • Organize recruiting events and represent A-State at college fairs, high schools and other outreach opportunities in Northeast Arkansas
  • Work closely with the Senior Director to train and guide members of the recruitment unit to address the University’s overall recruitment strategies
  • Coordinate scheduling of admissions counselor travel and in-office duties to maximize recruitment outreach
  • Manage current and recommend new strategies for use of CRM (Slate) to reach recruitment goals
  • Collect, analyze and report recruitment activity data including ROI of student application data
  • Represent the Office of Admissions at University functions as needed
  • Act as official liaison for campus partners concerning office recruitment activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of university admission requirements
Knowledge of student recruitment procedures
Knowledge of curriculum, university sponsored programs, student aid programs and campus life

Demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Ability to plan and implement student recruitment activities
Ability to determine student classifications for admission purposes
Ability to develop admission policies and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to effectively supervise, direct and evaluate professional staff members

General Days/Hours:

Monday-Friday
8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Some evenings and weekends for recruiting events
Regular and reliable attendance

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
Three (3) years' of recruitment and admissions experience
Experience in developing a positive team environment with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

Five or more (5+) years' of experience in higher education with progressive responsibility preferred
Prior supervisory experience (full-time staff) preferred
Prior CRM experience preferred
