Responsibilities

Assists in managing on-line patient engagement initiatives and associated programs and provides end user support for Electronic Medical Record (EMR) application.

Assists in assessing, managing, and mitigating software security notices from EMR vendor with IT Network Team.

Assists with preparing material for and providing new user EMR training, as needed, and with data analysis and reporting to identify trends and opportunities for improvements in services, compliance, and technologies.

Assists in assuring medical records comply with State, Federal, University, and UHS requirements and standards, and participates, as needed, in the creation, compilation, consolidation, and maintenance of a medical records filing system, to include but not limited, to scanning records into electronic Medical Record, death notices, interface reconciliation of labs, etc. to ensure accuracy of information.

Routes documents as appropriate for review, participates in maintenance of records for contingency plan operations, and assists in processing of subpoenas in accordance with State, Federal, University, and UHS requirements and standards.

Processes authorization for Medical Records Release requests in accordance with all State, Federal, University, and UHS guidelines, and assists in archiving and retrieval of medical records in accordance with all State, Federal, University, and UHS requirements and standards as needed.

Sorts and routes incoming and outgoing UHS IT mail in accordance with all policies and procedures, and answers inquiries, via telephone or in person, interpreting and defining policies and procedures to parents, students, and university departments.

Assists in verification of visits following all State, Federal, University and UHS requirements and standards, and participates on committees and performs special projects as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and two years of relevant experience.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.)

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information.

Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Position requires pre-employment PPD (TB) and successful completion of post hire OSHA/HIPAA training.

Preferred

Associates Degree in Information Technology or Health Related Field.
