Position Summary

Primary job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with employment vacancies including initiating staffing requests, performing responsibilities of a staffing coordinator in the PageUp system, oversight of the advertising process for support staff, and providing support in the interview and hiring process; monitoring the performance evaluation processes, assisting in developing, monitoring and administering a new hire orientation program; monitoring probationary and trial periods and providing assistance to units in training and review of new staff; researching, analyzing, compiling and providing reports related to Human Resources; assisting with Department projects related to Human Resources; performing other duties as assigned to carry out the mission of the University and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in human resources, a related social science field, or a field related to the operations of the department; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function or an area related to departmental operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with University systems including SAP, Kuali Financial System, and Business Intelligence; experience with PageUp system; experience assisting in developing policies and procedures surrounding Human Resources and related business functions; experience in a Higher Education environment; knowledge of University policies and procedures, especially in the field of Human Resources; experience in a service based work environment; experience in performance management, classification, compensation, professional development, and employee relations; demonstrates a work orientation that includes problem solving, taking initiative, working as a part of a team, and learning for continuous self-improvement. Ability to maintain and provide accurate reports and data to work independently and effectively manage time to meet deadlines given.
