Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate-level Telecommunications Applications Analyst to join Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

A Telecommunications Applications Analyst serves as a videoconferencing and streaming media service support analyst for University of Florida Information Technology (UFIT). Some key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Utilizing strong communication and training skills coupled with specialized technical experience
  • Assisting with formulating and defining scope and objectives based on client needs to provide customer technical support for videoconferencing
  • Streaming media and related infrastructure, technologies, and services
  • Providing campus-wide support through the Academic Technology (AT) Video and Collaboration Services (VCS).

Expected Salary:

$45,000 annually; commensurate based on education and experience. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma and four years of relevant experience.

Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience but does not negate the minimum degree requirement(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following preferred skills, expertise, and experience:

  • Experience with Zoom, Mediasite, Windows-based operating systems, servers and security, Active Directory
  • Extensive knowledge of videoconferencing, streaming media, and associated infrastructure system
  • Awareness of current standards and trends in IT and emerging technology
  • Outstanding communicator and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills; and the ability to work collegiality and interact effectively with a diverse constituency.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and a customer service-oriented approach and mindset.
