Visiting Artist in Theatre

Job description

Cornell College, a selective undergraduate liberal arts college located in Mount Vernon, Iowa, invites applications for a part-time Visiting Artist in Theatre. Cornell courses are taught on a One-Course-At-A-Time schedule, in which faculty members teach and students take one course at a time, meeting daily, M-F, for three and a half week terms. The Visiting Artist will teach Basic Acting, Play Analysis, and an Acting Ensemble adjunct course in the 2021-2022 academic year, and direct one production in the 2021-2022 mainstage season. This position is for one year with the possibility of renewal and is eligible for pro-rated benefits. MFA in Acting and Directing required. Teaching and professional (union) experience are highly desired.
Because Cornell College values diversity and strives to create a welcoming community in which all individuals are respected and included, the entire campus community is called upon to engage in dialogue around issues of difference, identity, and ideology. The College is committed to fostering a faculty and staff community that reflects our diverse student body. We encourage applications from candidates who share our vision for a campus that embraces differing backgrounds, viewpoints, and identities, and who will excel at working with students who are broadly diverse. (See our diversity statement here.)
