Duties:

Under the general direction of the Dean of Career Programs, this position serves as the Director of Nursing for a department chair, coordinators, nursing, and various non-nursing staff. The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the college nursing program. The Director of Nursing is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

Education/Experience:

A Master’s degree or higher in (Registered) Nursing required; a minimum of seven years of experience in a field of nursing, prior teaching experience, and prior nursing administration experience in an academic environment preferred.
Current active Registered Professional Nurse license in the state of Illinois.

Qualifications:

The Director of Nursing Program will manage all IDFPR State Board of Nursing & BNAT program requirements and paperwork and all accreditation requirements and paperwork; manage current affiliate clinical sites (Nursing and BNAT) and collaborate with the department chair to coordinate appropriate clinical sites to match program course and scheduling needs; collaborate with the Department Chair to review and manage the Nursing and BNAT budgets; research and collaborate with faculty, college and community partners to foster growth of the Nursing and BNAT programs; administer program rules and regulations, including meeting with and counsel students who either withdraw from or fail courses in the Nursing and BNAT programs regarding standing, options, and expectations; function as an active member of the ICCB Deans and Directors of A.D.N. programs and I-OADN, and other related local and national agencies; also responsible for assistance with programmatic evaluation and assessment efforts, as well as assisting in addressing student concerns and complaints; plus other duties as assigned.

Hours:

Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:15 p.m.
(Some evenings and weekends may be required)

Minimum Starting Rate:

$88,315.00
