General Summary:

The University of Massachusetts at Boston (UMB) is seeking a post-doctoral research fellow to contribute to a multi-year NSF-funded project aimed at understanding how systemic barriers in STEM affect mental health, wellbeing, and STEM persistence among graduate Women of Color in STEM.

Examples of Duties:

The post-doctoral research fellow will work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers to implement a multi-institutional mixed-methodological research project;

They will also participate substantively in all aspects of the research including instrument development and validation, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and overall project management;

The fellow will propose, lead, and co-author publications and conference presentations.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Ph.D. is required
• Strong educational background in one or more of the STEM disciplines, psychology, counseling psychology, or higher education and student affairs
• Demonstrated commitment to issues of equity and social justice specifically related to Women of Color
• Demonstrated evidence of research productivity and academic writing
• Strong background in quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches
• Experience working with large datasets is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working in an interdisciplinary team is preferred

The anticipated start date for the position is August 1, 2021. Initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of extension for an additional year depending on continued interest, performance, and available funding. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications.
