Job Summary

Impact West GA is a nonprofit organization on a mission to improve the quality of life of veterans, the homeless, and the west GA community at-large. The student assistant is responsible for supporting Impact’s mission through varied tasks that will include, but is not limited to, general office support, assisting clients in obtaining resources, and fundraising events.

Duties:
-Assist Director with daily office tasks such as filing; copying; answering phones; greeting/assisting clients, donors, and the public; light office cleaning.
-Assist Director in the planning and implementing of fundraising events, including running local errands.
-Assist HOPE Transition Advocate in obtaining resources for homeless clients, including running local errands.
-Assist Research Assistant with data conversion (hard to electronic copies)
-Assist HOPE Manager and DESERVE Coordinator with paperwork/reports
-Assist ACE Director with programming involving children (due to COVID, all ACE programs are currently suspended.)

Required Qualifications

Qualifications:
FWS Eligible
Minimum 2.75 GPA
Must have reliable transportation
Proficient in Google and Microsoft (Docs/Word & Excel/Sheets)
Excellent Communication Skills, oral and written
Ability to work independently
Good time management skills
Must be organized and dependable
Must be flexible, able to work collaboratively, and have a positive, team player attitude

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.

Special Applicant Instructions

Student Assistant II positions perform above-average duties of a complex nature requiring prior knowledge, skill, or training. Student Assistant II positions may be physically demanding and the work may be performed under difficult conditions. Students in these positions most often work with little to no supervision. This classification may be used while training for a higher level. This position does require the candidate to have Federal Work Study.
