Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

The Department of Family Medicine is one of eleven clinical departments at the Brody School of Medicine. The purpose of the department is to improve the health of the people of eastern North Carolina through leadership in Family Medicine education, research and health care services. The department provides accessible, high quality health care for its patients.
The Department of Family Medicine consists of seven divisions, as well as a central administration office. Each division has a responsibility that supports the overall mission of the department. The divisions include educational development, research, medical student education, residency, geriatrics, clinical services, and sports medicine. Clinical activities take place in the Family Medicine Center, Robert and Frances Monk Geriatric Center, Firetower Medical Office, nursing homes, Vidant Medical Center and in the community.

Job Duties :

This position serves as a telehealth logistics coordinator (TLC) for the Department of Family Medicine in the Research Division. The TLC will be a key point of contact for Jones County Schools which is in collaboration with ECU for a grant funded, school-based telemedicine program. Most of the TLC’s work will be conducted on-site in Jones County. Total hours worked per week will vary based on need and will be determined by the supervisor.

Primary responsibilities will include visiting schools and nurses/social workers/counselors in Jones County for relationships, troubleshooting, gathering and distributing paperwork and supplies; presenting patients via telehealth from sites as needed (training provided); supporting school nurses and providers with equipment and connectivity troubleshooting; working with each site to extract project specific data; working with school staff to troubleshoot and relay information back to the program manager; providing public relations and marketing for the grant; serving as program representative in the community to help improve the overall health and well-being of Jones County school students, faculty, and staff; collaborating with and reporting to Jones County school personnel; and attending monthly project meetings in person or via video conference.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
