The UCLA Honors Program unit seeks a lecturer for Fall 2021 (AY 2021-22) to teach an undergraduate seminar under Honors Collegium.

The Honors Collegium 149 course is designed for students in the College Honors program. Students examine how slavery, war, psychiatric institutionalization, and child sexual abuse shaped singular artistic visions. Students will explore research on memory and trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and how severe trauma impacts brain. Studio component in form of individual and group projects will offer more tangible insight into process of art and trauma.

UCLA has a diverse student population in one of the more diverse cities in the nation; we particularly seek candidates who have taught similarly diverse students in a major research university.

Required Qualifications:

  • An earned post-graduate degree from an accredited university
  • College-level teaching experience
  • Knowledge and training within the fields of art or related fields
  • Some knowledge and/or training within the fields of psychology or related fields
  • Experience in teaching writing and composition
