Senior Associate Dean, Development and Alumni Relations

Job description

Senior Associate Dean, Development and Alumni Relations
University of California Los Angeles

Requisition Number: 33080
Salary: 7600-21350

Position Description:
Since UCLA Anderson's founding in 1935, the School has served an essential mission that remains relevant across the decades: to transform management thinking and prepare future leaders for evolving careers in ever-changing organizations and markets and for lives of significance.

Expanding beyond Anderson's initial focus on the Los Angeles region, the School's ambitions today extend to the world and embrace rigorous and impactful scholarship, principled leadership and entrepreneurial thinking. As those at Anderson look to the coming years the creation and management of a lifelong relationship with Anderson alumni/donors becomes imperative, as it will take that support to preserve and grow Anderson's mission.

The Senior Associate Dean of External Affairs for the UCLA Anderson School of Management will oversee the entire range of external affairs initiatives in the School, including those for research centers and degree programs. Working with the Associate Deans of Development and of Alumni Relations, this role will be responsible for developing a comprehensive strategy that takes into account the lifecycle of an alum, from graduation through retirement, and the corresponding levels of involvement including engagement and development.

In consultation with the Dean and the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Professional Schools Development, this individual will design, implement and manage a comprehensive program that builds a lifelong connection between Anderson and the alumni community and donors with the ultimate goal of securing private support from individuals, corporations and foundations. The Senior Associate Dean will develop and oversee the implementation of long range-strategies for the engagement of and support from alumni, volunteers and faculty members. Specific Development work would include but not be limited to working directly with the Dean on principal and major gift efforts; integrating and expanding programs for principal gifts, major/planned gifts, special gifts, annual gifts and coalescing cultivation and stewardship activities into a cohesive plan to achieve stated objectives.

Importantly, this individual will initiate, develop and maintain cooperative relationships within the Anderson community and across the UCLA campus that expands and promotes the impact of the School's mission.

Further, the Senior Associate Dean will create a cohesive strategy that seamlessly
partners Alumni Relations with Development efforts. This individual will accomplish this while providing leadership, oversight and strategic direction to professional and support staff.
