Position Description:
Reporting directly to the Unified Access Services Manager (Biomedical Library and Science and Engineering Library) (UASM), the Access Services Lead, Biomedical Library is responsible for the effective functioning of the Biomedical Library's public service desk and provision of library services to the health science community. The Access Services Lead is responsible for public service desk operations, circulation, supervision of 2.0 full-time staff and 7.5 FTE student employees, budget management, communication, and outreach. Organizes workflows, sets goals and priorities and resolves problems which occur with the user public. Facilitates the Biomedical Library's Community Management Team which engages the user community with events and social media. Collaborates with personnel from the Science and Engineering Library to share knowledge, collaborate on areas of common concern, and ensures best practices among all of the science libraries.

The Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library and the Science and Engineering Library (SEL) serve the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and the Applied Sciences, the Jonathan and Karin Fielding School of Public Health, the Schools of Dentistry and Nursing, the UCLA Health System, both the Life Sciences Division and the Physical Sciences Division of the College of Letters and Science, related research institutes, and all others in the UCLA community who need science information. T The libraries are situated in three locations: the Biomedical Library is located in the Center for Health Sciences and the SEL is located both in Boelter Hall and in the Geology Building.
