Position Summary:

A forensic psychology faculty member is responsible for teaching, student advisement, research, professional service to the School, community, and administration over the course of the six-term academic year. Faculty teaching load is determined by the department chair based on department needs.

Principal Duties:

Teaching
The primary responsibility of a teaching faculty member is to share theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject with students, and encourage direct application to the field of Forensic Psychology.

·Teach 24 credit hours over six online terms (full year)

·Hold virtual office hours on a weekly basis

·Remain current in field of study/teaching expertise and update course content to reflect knowledge updates

·Complete term preparation course work, including syllabus and course review, in accord with department requirements

·Serve as course lead on dedicated courses, which includes selecting textbooks, teaching aids, and updating curriculum as needed

·Classroom instruction including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, or other appropriate modes of multimodal education delivery in a higher education setting

·Co-curricular activities such as colloquia

Advising

·Maintain a student advisee load according to department needs

·Spend time with advisees to provide mentorship on matters related to their academic, curricular, and career development

·Assist the department chair in documenting student progress through the program

·In collaboration with the department chair, develop and supervise individual Academic Development Plans (ADP) for advisees as needed

Research

·Engage in professional scholarship activities including conference presentations and research for publication

·Mentor and integrate students into research projects

Service

·Actively maintain activities that further the practice of forensic psychology

·Foster education of, and interest in, student service in the community

·Engage in community service

·Participate in departmental activities, including attendance at all faculty meetings, participating in the analysis of Student Learning Plan results, assisting in admissions activities, curriculum development, mentoring, and sponsoring student groups.

Position Qualifications:

·Doctoral degree in related discipline: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Forensic Psychology

·Licensed as a psychologist in at least one state in the USA

·Minimum of 3 years of successful online teaching experience

·Strong knowledge base in Clinical Work, Forensic Assessment & Intervention

·Intermediate competency with required technology (email, outlook, PowerPoint, internet research, electronic library databases)

·Exemplary professional experience in a forensic setting, law enforcement, military, or government

·Record of relevant research and scholarship
