Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with DI collegiate or professional basketball program.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for providing assistance to the Head Coach in assigned areas of the intercollegiate men’s basketball program.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Reading, analyzing and interpreting NCAA, SEC and institutional rules and regulations. Effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals, customers, and the general public. Solving practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only a limited standardization exists. Interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands:

Stand; walk; use hands to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Sit and talk or hear. Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Close and distance vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but escalates to high during practice and athletic competitions.

Evaluating and recruiting qualified student-athletes to the University of Georgia whose athletic and personal skills make them highly competitive in the SEC and nationally, and whose academic potential makes them good candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation at the University of Georgia; coordinating recruiting travel and visit itineraries.
