SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York. The College has over 12,000 students annually, and services over 6,500 students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Professional Studies, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs. An additional 5,500 students are served through the College’s community education and non-credit programs.

Requirements:

SUNY Broome Community College is seeking a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Music – Recording & Production available beginning Fall 2021 in the Music and Theater Arts Department.

The Assistant Professor of Music must demonstrate preparation to teach all levels of Music Recording and Production. Primary responsibilities include: Instructing, managing the sound studio, advising students, engaging in scholarly activity, assisting the Coordinator of Music, and serving on department and college committees.

Preference given to applicants with experience teaching at the college level, demonstrated interest and ability in the use of alternative and innovative instructional methods, familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom, and online teaching experience.

Master’s degree in music required; doctorate preferred. Three (3) years of teaching experience or an appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity is required.

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the field of Recording Arts, Live Sound Production, Studio Recording, and/or Sound Design preferred.

Qualifications include expertise in Pro-Tools as well as other Digital Audio Work Station software and the ability to teach other music courses desired.

Additional Information:

The salary range for this position $51,282 to $64,103.

Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
