Position Highlights:

The Arizona Student Unions is looking for three full-time Dining Services Attendant, Seniors (Culinary and Food Services Attendant III) to join our Starbucks team. This position will be located at one of our two Starbucks locations on campus: The Main Bookstore location or the Main Library location. As a Dining Services Attendant, Senior you will oversee the day to day operations of Starbucks Coffee on campus and provides a variety of quality, nutritious and flavorful food and beverage to students, faculty, staff and guests. This position is a team leader position supervising student employees. Follows, teaches and abides by the franchise and Student Union standards. Assists in interviewing, selecting, disciplining, counseling, coaching, and evaluating employees within University policy framework. Instruct, implement, and monitor all aspects of safe, sanitary, and service-oriented food preparation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all areas are staffed; delegates job assignments
  • Completes product orders as required
  • Trains employees in their job duties and health codes
  • Sets up Sequoia, retrieves banks, prepares coffee and food as needed
  • Monitors food quality and employee productivity
  • Prepares unit for opening or closing, stocking, cleanliness and equipment
  • Actively develops and supports a team based focus within Starbucks and Student Union
  • Actively supports and participates in Starbucks standards & practices
  • Checks and adjusts schedule for coverage and maintains labor budget
  • Writes, preps, list, and assigns duties as needed
  • Openly communicates with staff and Supervisor
  • Participates in employee discipline and guidance
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of food service operations including sanitation standards and food preparation
  • Knowledge of food service equipment, such as steamers, slicers and fryers
  • Ability to communicate effectively

Physical requirements:

  • Frequently reaches, shakes, stirs, pours, carries, and pushes
  • Often withstand large workload under high heat
  • Often stands during entire shift
  • Ability to occasionally transport/move a minimum of 50 pounds

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; OR
  • Equivalent learning attained through experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Barista
  • Experience operating commercial food service equipment
