Nature of Work:

Assist Central Receiving personnel with mail and package deliveries and clerical tasks.

This is a 19½ hour per week maximum, part-time student position reporting to the Procurement Director. The weekly schedule will be assigned by the supervisor in conjunction with the student’s class schedule. The work schedule is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Student employees are not to work during scheduled class times, even if classes are cancelled or dismissed early.

Essential Duties:

•Extends excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students and vendors
•Serves as backup in preparing incoming and outgoing mail
•Delivers incoming and outgoing campus mail daily
•Assists receiving staff with incoming and outgoing package deliveries.
•Completes tasks including typing, copying, faxing, shredding, etc.
•Assists in filling Central Stores orders
•Maintains cleanliness in Central Receiving
•Runs errands on campus
•Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Training:

•Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
•Must possess strong customer service and communication skills
•Must be dependable
•Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle use background check and be able to drive a vehicle
•Must be able to lift at least 55 pounds
•Must have knowledge of receiving equipment
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs

Preferred Qualifications and Training:

•Demonstrates excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
•Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines
•Demonstrates ability to concurrently handle both co-/extra-curricular and curricular assignments
•Demonstrates experience in driving a golf cart in heavy traffic

Work Hours :

Based on department needs, totaling 19.5 hrs or less per week.
