Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor

Job Summary:

Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach a full-time load of classes per semester in ESP 103: Innovation, Creativity & Entrepreneurial Thinking. ESP 103 is part of the required First-Year Integrated Core (FYIC) curriculum for all Farmer School of Business majors. This Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor is responsible for combining a practitioner’s perspective with solid academic foundations to an introductory level course. Position start date is August 16, 2021.

The FYIC is an innovative four course bundle that teaches students critical skills such as critical thinking, creative thinking, computational thinking & coding, ethical thinking, communication, and collaboration. As an ESP 103 teacher, you will be a part of a team of faculty who working collaboratively to integrate these key skills across all four FYIC classes (BUS 101: Foundations of Business; BUS 102: Foundations of Business Communication; ESP 103: Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Thinking; and BUS 104: Introduction to Computational Thinking for Business). Minimum Qualifications:

Doctorate in business, creative studies or a closely related discipline for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor; Master’s degree in business, creative studies or a closely related discipline and five years of entrepreneurial experience in start-up, corporate, creative, or social entrepreneurship for appointment as Instructor; teaching experience and practical experience in areas related to creativity, applied imagination, and/or entrepreneurship; strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; ability to communicate effectively with first-year students through senior level faculty / administrators.

Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration will be given to candidates with two years of excellence in teaching or evidence of teaching potential in an area related to entrepreneurship; demonstrated experience as an exceptional teacher at the undergraduate level; at least ten years of entrepreneurial experience in start-up, corporate, creative, or social entrepreneurship; combination of education and professional experiences around innovation, organizational change, problem solving, design, or idea generation.
