Part-Time Temporary Learning Design Assistant, Center for Learning & Innovation

POSITION SUMMARY

The Learning Design Assistant will engage with committed professionals to assist in the design of meaningful learning experiences for thousands of IWU students. The LDA is a member of the Learning eXperience Design (LXD) team and supports the team and academic units with prioritized projects on a temporary basis. Duties and responsibilities include collaborating with learning experience designers, instructional designers, subject matter experts, courseware providers, librarians, school curriculum staff, and media or e-learning developers to build high-quality courses in the IWU LMS.

NOTE: This position is a part-time temporary role for up to 6 months and 20-30 hours per week.

Reporting Relationships:

Reportsto the Learning Design Technologist Lead.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree, certificate in instructional design, or at least 5 years experience in instructional design or educational development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Participates as needed in one or more of the Learning eXperience Design Elements. to varying degrees, depending on types of projects, interests, special assignments, and demand for services, with a focus on building delivery systems.

    Researching and Sharing Effective Practices and Solutions
    Experimenting with Innovation
    Developing Project Plans and Applying Project Management Strategies
    Designing Spaces for Learning and Building Delivery Systems
    Interpreting Specific Learning Contexts
    Deconstructing Learning Expectations
    Designing Assessment Processes
    Facilitating Instructional Approaches in Course Design
    Supporting the Curation and Creation of Content
    Designing Student Engagement
    Testing the Learning Experience Design
    Leading by Serving
    Other duties as applied

Qualifications:

Experience and skills:

    Demonstrated servant leadership skills.Possesses strong skills in Microsoft Office, some skill in HTML/CSS, and has the ability to troubleshoot formatting and embedded media errors.Has experience creating or maintaining online courseware or website content.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.Demonstrated ability to deliver quality work on time.
