Essential Job Duties:

The position involves teaching distance education courses in the area of bioproducts and the bioeconomy. The person will be expected to refine several existing distance courses and develop some new distance course material within the bioeconomy arena and teach 2-3 distance courses per semester. This position will require management of a team of faculty and graduate students to fulfill requirements of a sponsored program in bioproducts and bioenergy. The position will be responsible for managing teaching teams, coordinating appropriate pedagogical training using available campus resources, participating in course and program assessment, and ensuring best practices for effective online course instruction. The person will be setting standards for the courses. The person will also be preparing progress reports to submit to the sponsor. This is a two year project with annual review.

Department Required Skills:

Ability to develop and teach distance-education course.
Teaching assistance or teaching experience in STEM.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:

Experience and education in bioproducts/bioprocessing, sustainability, environmental science, or sustainability in STEM related field with experience in project management and course development for synchronous or asynchronous online teaching. Familiarity (one year of experience) with MOODLE or a similar learning management system.
