Position Description:
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Information Technology Services is seeking an Application Developer with an exceptional commitment to service excellence to join the team. As the Application Developer, you will be an integral member of the Learning Management System program team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to enable a world-class, integrated teaching and learning experience for faculty and students that sets the standard for teaching excellence, academic achievement, and inclusivity.

The Developer will help build products and services in support of UCLA's new Canvas LMS. As part of the team, this person will work with product managers, learning designers, and world-class faculty and administrators in enhancing the LMS and developing best-in-class online pedagogy and experiences. This work will impact students and faculty across campus and provide engineering experience related to handling new levels of flexibility and scaling the new LMS platform. General activities include: application design, coding, validating software, supporting verification and validation testing, and ensuring that all product development conforms to design specifications and coding standards for the Canvas platform; follows software designs and conducting investigation activities following defined methods; design specifications for implementation integration using APIs with SIS and custom Canvas tools; evaluation of selected designs through testing and full documentation of the results.
