Pierpont Community & Technical College is seeking applications for a full-time, 10-month Program Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. Program directors are responsible to School Deans, Provost and the President for implementing academic policies. They coordinate associate and certificate degree programs and supervise the academic functions of faculty members within their programs.
Special Conditions: The program director is a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant who demonstrates an understanding of education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in physical therapist assistant education.
Examples Of Duties
The successful candidate will teach a full academic load of 15 credit hours per semester (or equivalent), advise students, participate in institutional service, and engage in professional development activities commensurate with the duties and responsibilities defined in the College’s Faculty Handbook.
Minimum Expectations: Instruction and evaluation; student advising; committee assignments; faculty meetings; consultation; in-service programs; preparation for teaching; professional and scholarly development; research; performs other appropriate duties as assigned and as necessary; adheres to and complies with all relevant federal, state, and local laws; if assigned a State purchasing card, abides by all purchasing rules and provisions and reports/balances account as required or directed; adheres to all institutional policies and guidelines, including the provisions of the employee’s relevant employee handbook; adheres to and complies with relevant provisions of the WV State Ethics Acts; adheres to all safety rules and provisions; reports any personal; accidents/injuries or accidents/injuries of assigned staff to HR by end of work day or work shift; and completes all required performance evaluations timely, completely, and accurately.
Minimum of five years (or equivalent), full-time, post licensure experience that includes a minimum of three years (or equivalent) of full-time clinical experience within any US jurisdiction
Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience
Experience in administration/management
Experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment, including the equivalent of nine academic credits of coursework in educational foundations, or previous CAPTE-granted exemption.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: The successful candidate should be a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant who holds an active, unrestricted PT license.
