SUMMARY
The Nursing program is seeking qualified applicants for a Clinical Adjunct Faculty to teach the Labor and Delivery/Women’s Health clinical rotation in the Fall 2021 semester. Under the direction and supervision of the Founding Dean of Nursing, the Clinical Adjunct Faculty would have the following duties:
- Instructs students by planning, coordinating, and implementing instruction in the Labor and Delivery/Women’s Health clinical unit.
- Meet with lead course faculty at the beginning of each semester to orient to the course and review student learning outcomes, course syllabus, and learning resources.
- Orient students to the assigned affiliated clinical organization.
- Supervises nursing students in the clinical environment.
- Evaluates clinical performance of the student.
- Keep adequate records of grades, attendance, clinical performance, and anecdotal notes on nursing students.
- Provide feedback about adequacy of clinical site in allowing students to meet course outcomes to the lead course faculty.
- Attend nursing faculty meetings as required by the Dean of Nursing.
- Keep current evidence of license and education on file with the School of Nursing.
- Maintain current certification on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and remain up to date on any other immunizations required by the clinical organization.
- Maintain professional competence and participates in professional development activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The Clinical Adjunct Faculty must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing is preferred. If a person is halfway through a MSN program, they can be considered.
- Experience in Labor & Delivery/Women’s Health
- Demonstrates Christian principles and ethical behavior in agreement with the University’s Statement of Faith and committed to the mission and values of the School of Nursing.
- Maintains a spirit of cooperation and flexibility in a fast-paced environment, reflecting a positive attitude and contributing to team effort by accomplishing related tasks.
- Demonstrates good communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, accomplish goals, complete assignments, and manage multiple projects with accuracy.
