Bachelor’s Degree;

Preferred Qualifications:

Job Description:

The Assistant Director leads a team of professional staff charged with the oversight and coordination of a comprehensive and strategic communications plan. The Assistant Director will serve as the Strategic Marketing and Project Manager for all Office of Undergraduate Admissions-led marketing and communications initiatives. These responsibilities include initiating the planning, creation, development, and inventory management of a broad set of resource materials meant to highlight academic and student life opportunities at Texas State. These resource materials will be used across a broad spectrum of recruiting, marketing, and other communications/publicity needs. Additionally, the Assistant Director is charged with Undergraduate Admissions’ social media branding, maintaining Undergraduate Admissions’ webpages, and is integral in the development of communication and marketing campaigns for the recruitment of undergraduate students from initial interest to matriculation on campus. These campaigns require a strong knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) recruitment technology, specifically Banner and Slate, as well as an ability to form a strong partnership with the Admissions Technology team. The Assistant Director will also be assigned special projects, including, but not limited to: coordination and development of vendor-specific recruitment marketing campaigns that include collateral for emails and direct mail pieces; content for the Undergraduate Admissions’ Call Center, specifically telephone scripts; the coordination of in-house designs for publications and websites; providing creative and technical direction for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions; developing communication strategies; coordinating the creation of engaging presentations and email templates; coordinating the design, layout and packaging for production print materials. Print materials include but are not limited to: 40-page viewbook, recruitment pieces used by admissions counselors, brochures, event collateral (signs, name badges, programs, etc.), event displays and environmental graphics. The position has three direct reports – 1 Coordinator of Marketing and Communications, 1 Admissions Counselor, and 1 Graphic Designer. This position works closely with University Marketing.

Job Duties:

Oversee the coordination of recruitment publications for undergraduate students;
Supervise three full-time staff – direct reports include 1 Coordinator of Marketing and Communications, 1 Admissions Counselor, 1 Graphic Designer
Plan, create, develop, and inventory recruitment publications targeted to undergraduate students;
Manage the design & implementation of consistent communications with prospective students, in partnership with campus partners, throughout the recruitment and admission process;
Edit and proofread multiple publications and recruitment materials on deadline;
Brand Undergraduate Admissions’ social media;
Lead collaborative efforts with University Marketing, including maintenance of undergraduate admissions website, recruitment publications, branding, digital advertising, photography and video needs;
Work with external partners (vendors) in the coordination and development of recruitment marketing campaigns that include collateral for emails, direct mail as well as content telephone calling scripts for the Undergraduate Admissions Call Center;
Collaborate across campus with colleges and departments to identify and develop compelling student and faculty stories to promote academic strengths for recruiting intiatives.
