General Summary

The Department of Finance, Insurance and Law (FIL) in the College of Business (COB) invites applications for a non-tenure track position in the area of Business Law, beginning in the fall of 2021. The primary teaching need is for the introductory business law course that is required of all COB majors. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

The Department of Finance, Insurance and Law has 15 tenured and tenure-track faculty members.

Required Qualifications

1. A Juris Doctor degree
2. Must demonstrate commitment to and evidence of effective teaching
3. For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English
language as a requirement for this position.
4. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background
investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a
satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal
background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.

Founded in 1857, Illinois State University was the first public university in the state and is one of the Midwest’s oldest institutions of higher education.
