Position Summary:

Prairie State College seeks an adjunct faculty member who is qualified to teach the following course(s):

Criminal Justice courses in the A.A. and A.A.S. sequence

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.

2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant and related full-time, non-teaching work experience in a related field.

3. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Significant experience in law enforcement, corrections, probation, parole, law and/or related areas involving criminal investigation and management of individuals in a law enforcement setting.
2. Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
3. Experience at the community college level.
4. Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.

Faculty teaching non-IAI courses must have bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in a related discipline and have a minimum of 5 years of relevant and related full-time non-teaching work experience in a related.

Faculty teaching IAI transferrable courses must have a minimum of a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline and have a minimum of 5 years of relevant and related full-time, non-teaching work experience in a related field.
