The Social Work Department at Azusa Pacific University seeks to prepare students for professional social work practice with diverse populations in a variety of settings. As a mid-sized thriving department, emphasis is on engagement with students that integrates high expectations with high support for academic success. Training focuses on a holistic approach to professional development with a goal to prepare effective generalist and advanced social work practitioners and dynamic leaders both locally and globally. Ethical integration of faith in practice, teaching, and scholarship is emphasized.
MSW Program options include full-time, part-time, and advanced standing options, with locations at the main campus in Azusa and at the Inland Empire Regional Campus. Advanced practice options include The Community Leadership and Program Administration specialization which prepares students for macro practice in local, national, and international contexts and the Clinical Practice with Individuals and Families specialization which prepares students for a range of clinically-oriented practice settings.
Announcing a full-time clinical faculty appointment as the Director of Admissions and Student Services with primary assignment to the Master of Social Work Program. This position oversees and is responsible for recruitment and admissions in the MSW program. Additionally, the position oversees student services and records. This position is primarily administrative, with an option for instructional responsibilities. As our student body is reflective of the diversity of Southern California, the Department seeks to recruit faculty from diverse backgrounds, committed to excellence, a collaborative environment, and social justice. Experience in higher education, administration, and program development preferred.
Director of Admissions and Student Services position in a thriving, urban, CSWE accredited Master of Social Work program. The Department of Social work seeks candidates with experience in administration and social work education with a strong commitment to student engagement and development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Specialization: MSW recruitment, admissions, and student services.
Creation, implementation, and quality of recruitment of MSW students.Implementation and oversight of MSW process, ensuring a fair and equitable process.Provide administration and oversight of MSW student services, including academic advising and registration. In collaboration with MSW Program Director and Program Coordinator maintain accurate student records and database. Participate in department and program meetings and functions, strategic planning, special programs, and campus committees as indicated for role. Assist in CSWE accreditation/reaffirmation activities, ensuring compliance of student services aspects of the program with CSWE EPAS. Participation in the life of the department as well as the university is required.Work at alternative Regional Campuses or Sites as indicated for role.
Level: Clinical Faculty Appointment, rank based on education and experience.
Master of Social Work degree from an accredited social work program required, doctorate in social work desirable. Minimum of two years professional practice experience.Demonstrated record of administration and program development.Demonstrated public speaking and community relations ability.Strong interpersonal skills.Skilled in basic computer technology applications and social media.Able to communicate personal ethical integrate of Christian faith in social work scholarship and practice.
Higher education, administration, leadership, and community-based experience strongly preferred. A demonstrated strong commitment to social work education, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Able to describe and communicate an understanding of the profession of social work.
