The School of Nursing at Western Carolina University (WCU) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in the School of Nursing. Anticipated begin work date is August 1, 2021. Faculty rank is commensurate with experience. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a candidate has been selected for hire.
Candidates interested in an academic career with a focus on teaching, service, and scholarly pursuit are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have an interest in scholarship and education and the flexibility to teach in several areas of the curriculum – however the greatest need for teaching at this time is in the undergraduate programs. Teaching will include teaching courses, teaching in the skills and simulation laboratory, and supervising student clinical experiences. Additional responsibilities include service on committees and participation in official activities of the School, College, and University.
This position will be located at the Western Carolina University Biltmore Park instructional site in Asheville, North Carolina. Some teaching responsibilities may be at off-site locations and/or during evening hours. Faculty member may also be expected to occasionally teach on the main WCU Cullowhee, NC campus location.

Doctoral Degree in nursing required by start date; Degree must be from an appropriately accredited institution; Eligibility for RN licensure in NC, to be in place by begin work date; Must meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing’s requirement for teaching/learning prior to or within the first three years of employment [21 NCAC 36 .0318: (g).(4)].Preferred Qualifications:
