General Summary

Provide clerical and/or secretarial support to Faculty and Administrative staff.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Perform various routine and detailed clerical duties, including those of a service clerk, receptionist, etc.
Receive, review, prepare, and process forms, reports, records, and requests pertaining to departmental services.
Prepare departmental materials for distribution to requesting students and staff. Act as receptionist in receiving and directing students and visitors, answering routine inquiries, and scheduling appointments and meetings.

Communicate with other offices regarding routine departmental procedures and other matters.

Maintain departmental files and other office records.

Initiate correspondence with outside businesses and agencies.

Make routine judgments in compliance with departmental policy.

Operate departmental office machines.

Receive, sort, and route correspondence and other mail.

Perform related departmental duties, as required.

Qualifications

Ability to read, write, interpret instructions, and perform basic arithmetic, typically acquired through the completion of a high school education, is necessary in order to perform various routine duties and detailed clerical duties.

Familiarity with word processing/computer systems is necessary.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Noncampus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
