Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:Teach courses supporting both the BFA and MFA in Dance program, including dance technique (ballet, modern, jazz or other techniques), Pilates, choreography, and theoretical courses such as dance history. Additional areas of expertise that support the department’s curriculum may be taken into consideration. There will be opportunities to choreograph and have work presented in departmental concerts each semester.
Other Requirements: Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from a variety of communities and cultures, and a commitment to encourage and support diversity is essential. The successful candidate will be an inspiring teacher and dance artist who will contribute to the department’s continuing development.
Educational Requirements for the Position:MFA in Dance.
Experience Required for the Position:Minimum two years of college teaching experience.
Other Requirements for the Position:All Department of Dance faculty members are expected to maintain a record of creative productivity. The applicant is expected to create choreography for dance majors to be presented in the faculty dance concert. The applicant must work collegially with others and be committed to mentoring students. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from a variety of communities and cultures, and a commitment to encourage and support diversity is essential. The successful candidate will be an inspiring teacher and artist who will contribute to the department’s continuing development.
