Job Summary

The Savannah State University (SSU) Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) Instructor provides rigorous instruction to program participants. This is a federally grant-funded position. The position reports to the SSU GEAR UP Director and Coordinator.

Responsibilities Provide high quality academic instructional services to participants in core academic subject areas during after-school instruction/tutorials, Sensational Saturday sessions and Summer Bridge Program. Elective teachers will provide instruction in non-academic areas i.e. foreign language, technology and art during summer sessions.

Required Qualifications

Teaching experience in working with economically challenged/first generation college bound students. Preferences given to candidates who are from low-income and first-generation student backgrounds.
